Hi there. Welcome back.

Anyway, in this post, I want to share 8 great websites to learn English. I will give some description about the websites below. Read more, please. ^^

If you want to learn English autodidactly, learning from websites is a great choice. Because nowadays, there are so many websites that would totally help us to improve our English. Here are 7 great websites that I've found on the internet:

1. Language Guide - English

This website mostly covers information about vocabularies. They have an interactive style to help you remembering the vocabularies. There are interesting pictures, completed by the pronunciation files. So, when you hover your pointer on a picture, the pronunciation file will play, showing you how the word are said by (American) native speakers. There are also pronunciation and listening challenge to encourage you to pronounce, or to listen and remembering the words. This web has many categories of vocabularies.

This website also has the grammar mode which will test your ability to change irregular verbs into their past forms. They are also completed by pronunciation files. Pretty interesting, isn't it?

2. Easy World of English

This website has 4 different menus. They are Grammar, Pronunciation, Readings, and Picture Dictionary. They all have their own special features.

You can learn about grammar, of course, in the Grammar menu. This web provides a wide range of grammar to learn. This can be a very good source, but may be some of you will not get interested because what this web provides is almost the same with the formal way like in schools. If you are interested, you can check it out.

The next two parts are Pronunciation and Readings. In the Pronunciation menu, you can hear pronunciations of verbs, phrases, and expressions. While in the Reading menu, you will get so many stories. You can also train your ears here using the audio provided along with the texts. They're both classified into several categories and levels to help you choose which material will you see first.

The last part is Picture Dictionary. This is quite interesting and, apparently, is almost the same as what Language Guide provides. The difference is just the illustrations used are photographs, not cliparts or drawings. This menu has a large number of categories that you really don't want to miss.

3. www.ManyThings.org

The design of this website might be simple, but it has a wide range of categories. You will find materials about vocabulary, grammar, sentence patterns, proverbs, slang, idioms, pronunciation, listening, hearing, podcast, jokes, songs, and many more. This web also give you quizzes, puzzles, tongue twisters, and games. Yes, games, which will make your English learning even more interesting. With this wide range of categories, this web can be a large English learning resource for us.

4. ABCya!

This might be a website for kids, but it doesn't mean that teenagers and adults can't use it too. This web provides educational games organized by grade level. The interactive games make this web can be one of your good resources to learn English. The fun-looking design of the web makes it more interesting. You can learn pronunciation, spelling, phonics, vowels, and many more. Don't be embarassed to open this web for learning, because there's nothing to be embarassed about when it comes to learning, especially learning English.

5. English Central

This website has a video-based teaching, and has several features. It provides videos that are interactive for viewers. We can watch the videos, see the subtitles, hover any words we don't know, learn the words, speak the words, and there will be a quiz vocabulary at the end of the session. This is a quite unique way to teach or learn. You might need to sign up to see their lessons, but don't worry. It's free. Visit this website and see if you can find the other features available.

6. How do you do?

How do you do? is not exactly an English teaching or learning website. This is actually just like a chat-based website where you can see, chat, audio-call, or video-call other people from many countries to improve your language(s). You can try to find English speakers and start chatting with them. Of course, after signing up your free account. This can be a good place for you to train your writing or typing skill, and also your speaking skill.

7. RealLife English

If you want REAL ENGLISH, you better check this website out. It's a quite interesting web for English learners to learn Real English. Yes, I'm talking about their materials that concern on everyday English. This can be a good resource if you want to take your English into the next level.

8. PhraseMix

Still about Real English, this web offers courses to learn English. Well, this isn't a free website. In order to see their complete materials, they will charge you a particular amount of dollar. However, you can still access the articles inside for free. But, if you're really serious about learning English, this can be a good choice to start.

I think that's all from me for now. You can check those websites whenever you have time. Please keep exploring, find your own best website, find your own style of learning, and keep your chin up.
